The Importance of Data Access
The availability of data is critical to the success of planning of renewable energy and other planning projects. Without trustworthy data, the results obtained from spatial analysis may be inaccurate or unreliable.
GIS (Geographic Information System) relies on a wide range of data sources, including satellite imagery, governmental data, and proprietary data. The availability of these data sources can vary depending on factors such as location, time, and quality. It is essential to have access to up-to-date and accurate data to ensure the accuracy and reliability of GIS analysis. Typically, it is a very tedious and time-consuming task to find and collect the necessary data needed to perform analyses.
Introducing Enernite Data Hub
We are proud to introduce the Enernite Data Hub, which comes with hundreds of ready-to-use datasets from vetted sources. By using the Data Hub our customers can dramatically reduce the cost of acquiring third-party data. The platform provides a seamless process to discover and access data from a fast-growing catalog of premium providers and public sources across many different data categories including environmental, infrastructure and energy.
Simple Access
The Data Hub is designed to be user-friendly and intuitive, making it easy for users to navigate and find the data they need. Users can search for data based on various criteria, such as location, type of data, and category. Once they have found the data they need, users can view the data on a map and use it in their GIS analysis.
Connected to Governmental Data Servers
The Data Hub is connected to governmental WMS (Web Map Service) servers to allows users to access a wide range of geospatial data from various government agencies. It serves as a centralized repository of geospatial data, providing users with a single point of access to a wealth of information. This ensures that the data used in GIS analysis is accurate and up-to-date, as the Data Hub is designed to be integrated with WMS servers that are regularly updated by government agencies.
OpenStreetMap
Among numerous other sources, the Data Hub enables you to use data from OpenStreetMap (OSM). OSM is a collaborative, open-source mapping platform that provides a wide range of geospatial data. It is a global database of available geographic data, maintained by a community of contributors. As a result, it is often more up-to-date than other commercial mapping platforms. Additionally, OSM data is often more accurate and detailed than other mapping platforms, particularly in areas where commercial mapping providers have limited coverage. By combining OSM with governmental sources you are able to cross-check the data and ensure the accuracy and reliability of the data.
Continued Efforts
With this release, we continue our efforts to become the leading spatial data platform in the market by providing a streamlined process to reduce operational inefficiencies of discovering and accessing spatial data. This allows you to stop wasting time at different stages of the process and focus your efforts on generating value through spatial analysis and modeling.
If you are a data provider interested in adding your datasets to the Data Hub, we would love to hear from you — please contact us.
